Fly-In Ontario Bass Fishing
Come and experience a different kind of fishing adventure. Fly into
unspoiled wilderness with your canoe, tent and fishing gear. This is
your place, no road access, the only ripple is made by you or your opponent.
This is fishing, as it ought to be, no cares, no distractions, only
the freedom to fish as never before. It is highly recommended that anglers
us catch-and-release in this area.
Small Mouth: The Smallmouth bass has no equal among fish in
terms of fighting spirit. Their trademark is to leap out of the water
when hooked and the vigorous thrashing. Because of their unique and
exciting reactions it is a much sought after fish by virtually all anglers.
They prefer cooler, deeper lakes, ponds and streams. This delicious
tasting species is best caught from spring through fall.
Technique
The ideal habitat for Smallmouth Bass is a rock bottom especially near
rocky points where they feed on smaller fish such as yellow perch. They
are receptive to both lures and live bait with leeches being a good
bet, while spin casting and jigging across the bottom during retrieval
will greatly enhance your success rate. Spinner
baits, crank baits, spinners, plugs, and spoons can be effective
with light to medium spinning and bait casting gear. Using ultra-light
tackle can add to the experience.
